The dress is a traditional strapless ball gown scarlet cranberry in color, with a fitted ruche bodice and flowing skirt made of chiffon over satin that drapes the expectant waistline. A layer of light chiffon covers the skirt and gathers in the front for a waterfall effect. A shawl clasped with a jeweled broach compliments the neckline. The first lady wore pointed heals with ruching coordinated with the bodice. Her light, jeweled chandelier earrings highlight the jeweled brooch.
