FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Friday, May 26, 2006 Contact: Jessica Robinson, 573-751-0290 First Lady Melanie Blunt Opens Exhibit Honoring Our Nation’s First LadiesKANSAS CITY–First Lady Melanie Blunt today helped open the First Ladies: Political Role and Public Image exhibit at Union Station. “I am honored to represent the great state of Missouri as your first lady,” Mrs. Blunt said. “This exhibit pays tribute to our nation’s first ladies and the valuable roles they have played in helping shape our nation.” First Ladies: Political Role and Public Image is a traveling exhibit modeled after the permanent exhibition at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History that pays tribute to our nation’s first ladies. The exhibit features gowns, photographs, campaign memorabilia, videos and audio of our country’s first ladies. Mrs. Blunt also helped open the exhibit when it made its Missouri debut in St. Louis in February. The first lady is pleased the collection will again be featured in our state.
