First Lady Distributes Yellow Hardy Mums to Honor Military & Safety Personnel on Patriot Day

JEFFERSON CITY- First Lady Melanie Blunt today participated in Busch’s Florist 7th annual Patriot Day Tribute to military and public safety personnel.  Mrs. Blunt helped distribute yellow hardy mums as a lasting tribute to honor Patriot Day.

“Patriot Day offers us a valuable opportunity to pause in humility and recognize the countless heroes who risk their lives to protect our safety,” Mrs. Blunt said.

The yellow mums are suitable for planting and will be a colorful reminder to remember and honor law enforcement, public safety and military heroes.  The mums are provided free of charge to the public.  Busch’s Florist expected 1500 people to visit the store this morning.
