Gov. Blunt and First Lady Melanie Blunt Help Serve Thanksgiving Dinner to Missourians in Needy

SPRINGFIELD - Gov. Matt Blunt, his wife Melanie and members of Springfield's Second Baptist Church are volunteering this Thanksgiving at the Victory Mission. Tonight, Gov. Blunt and the First Lady helped serve dinner to area residents in need of a helping hand and a hot meal.

"As we celebrate Thanksgiving with our families and friends, I am thankful for the many charitable organizations like the Victory Mission and their volunteers who provide a helping hand and a hot meal to their fellow Missourians in need," said Gov. Blunt, who attends Springfield's Second Baptist Church which helped organize volunteers for Victory Mission. "The selfless good deeds of Missouri's charitable organizations have not gone unnoticed and we are all thankful for those who donate their time and resources for charity."

Victory Mission is a non-denominational organization that provides emergency and educational services that lead to long-term reconciliation, rehabilitation and re-entry to society. Victory Mission serves the greater Springfield area
