January 30, 2008 - Strengthening Missouri's Conservation Efforts

Gov. Matt Blunt signs House Bill 2021 making $10 million available to help enhance the efforts of the Missouri Department of Conservation.
"As I have visited with Missourians in every corner of our state I am always impressed by the natural wonders that exist right here in our own backyards. This legislation will help ensure that future generations of Missourians will be able to enjoy the natural beauty of Missouri."

January 30, 2008 - 2008 Tour of Missouri

Gov. Matt Blunt unveils that the inaugural Tour of Missouri’s economic impact topped a staggering $26.2 million, as tourists and cycling fans from around the world visited Missouri for the six-day race. Gov. Blunt also announced the 2008 Tour of Missouri will kickoff in St. Joseph on September 8, and finish in St. Louis on September 14. The race is expected to cover about 600 miles and cyclists will pedal through Kansas City, Clinton, Springfield, Branson, Lebanon, Rolla, St. James, Jefferson City, Hermann, and St. Charles. Gov. Matt Blunt is honored for his commitment to increasing access to community health centers for Missourians with the Christopher S. “Kit” Bond Champion of Community Health Centers Award. The Missouri Primary Care Association awards the Champion of Community Health Centers Award to recognize an honoree who has demonstrated support of the community health center model, and is committed to increasing health access for all, regardless of ability to pay, and to public service with a willingness to help communities improve access.

Gov. Matt Blunt today discusses his plan to again significantly increase funding to benefit Missouri families who are struggling with the challenges of autism. The governor’s budget recommendations will include $12.4 million in increased funding to support autism diagnosis and treatment.
