Gov. Matt Blunt visits Autism centers across the state to announce the successful effort to more than double the funding for Missouri families facing Autism. The state’s newest budget includes the governor’s recommendation of $3.9 million in additional state funding to focus on improvements to Autism treatment and diagnosis. In addition, another budget bill will provide $2.6 million to be used to construct a new state-of-the-art learning center at Southeast Missouri State University to diagnose and treat Missourians who suffer from Autism.

Gov. Matt Blunt announces the Missouri Virtual Instruction Program is open for registration and will be available to students in the coming school year.  The governor signed legislation authorizing the program, which introduces an online alternative to enhance traditional classroom learning for thousands of Missouri students.

Matt Blunt assists with the Department of Transportation’s sandbagging effort. The sandbags will be used if needed to help hold back waters to keep Highway 63 open or will be made available to other areas.
