Blunt Makes Appointments to State Boards, Commissions and Councils

JEFFERSON CITY–Gov. Matt Blunt announced the appointments of members who will serve on several boards, commissions and councils.

 

Advisory Committee on 911 Service Oversight

Samuel (Sam) M. Coryell, 32 of Springfield, is president of Coryell Enterprises Inc. Coryell is a graduate of Southwest Missouri State University. Coryell’s appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on April 9, 2008.

 

Credit Union Commission

Jovita M. Foster (D), 30 of St. Louis, is an attorney with Armstrong Teasdale, LLP. Foster holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Missouri- Columbia and a juris doctorate from Washington University. Foster’s appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on Jan. 1, 2009.

 

Missouri Board for Respiratory Care

Robert J. Crawford (R), 51 of Hannibal, is group director of patient care, rehabilitation services and director of cardiopulmonary services at Hannibal Regional Hospital. Crawford holds a bachelor’s degree in respiratory therapy from the University of Missouri- Columbia. Crawford’s appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on April 3, 2008.

 

Missouri Board of Occupational Therapy

Peggy R. Gettemeier, 52 of Ferguson, is coordinator of student development, fieldwork education, and community initiatives in the Department of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy in the Doisy College of Health Sciences at Saint Louis University. Gettemeier holds a bachelor’s degree in organizational studies and a master’s of public health from Saint Louis University. Gettemeier’s appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on Dec. 11, 2006.

 

Missouri State Council on the Arts

Rosalie C. Wooten, 63 of Springfield, is past executive vice president of and currently serves on the board of O’Reilly Auto Parts. Wooten holds a bachelor of arts from Drury University. Wooten’s appointment is for a term ending on Oct. 13, 2010.

 

Missouri State Park Advisory Board

Don R. Johnson, 59 of Festus, is responsible for human resource functions at Cequel III. Johnson served as a pilot in the United States Air Force. Johnson’s appointment is for a term ending on April 15, 2008.

 

Missouri State University Board of Governors

John L Winston, 60 of St Louis, works with Clayton Capital Partners. Winston holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Saint Louis University. Winston's appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on August 28, 2011.

 

Missouri Training and Employment Council

Herbert J. Schmidt, 50 of Joplin, is president and CEO of Contract Freighters, Inc. Schmidt holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Missouri Southern State College. Schmidt’s appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on Aug. 28, 2007.

 

Public School Retirement System of Missouri

James (Jim) V. O’Donnell, 55 of Ladue, is co-founder of Bush O’Donnell & Co. O’Donnell holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and master’s of business administration from Washington University. O’Donnell’s appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on June 30, 2009.

 

Safe Drinking Water Commission

Elizabeth K. Grove, 47 of Monroe City, is general manager of the Clarence Cannon Wholesale Water Commission. Groves holds a bachelor of arts from Northeast Missouri State University (Truman) and a master’s of business administration from Quincy University in Illinois. Grove’s appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on Sept. 1, 2008.

 

Seismic Safety Commission

Daniel J. Abbott, 50 of St. Louis, is vice president of Corrigan Company Mechanical Contractors. Abbott holds a bachelor’s degree in architectural engineering and a master’s of engineering from Kansas University. Abbott’s appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on July 1, 2006.

J. David Rogers, 51 of Rolla, is an associate professor and Karl F. Hasselman Chair in Geological Engineering at the University of Missouri- Rolla. Rogers holds a bachelor’s degree in geology from California State Polytechnic University, a master’s of geological engineering and a doctorate of geological and geotechnical engineering from the University of California- Berkley. Rogers’ appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on July 1, 2006.

 

State Advisory Council on Emergency Medical Services

Dr. Jimmy W. Pyron, 59 of Diamond, is co-director of emergency services for Freeman Hospitals and Health System. Pyron holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from Oklahoma Christian College and a doctorate of osteopathic medicine from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine. Pyron’s appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on Jan. 5, 2008.

 

State Board of Optometry

Dr. Cathy L. Frier, 52 of El Dorado Springs, operates a private optometry practice. Frier is a graduate of Southern College of Optometry, Pennsylvania College of Optometry and the University of Missouri- St. Louis. Frier’s appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on June 30, 2009.

 

State Board of Podiatric Medicine

Dr. Terrence G. Klamet (D), 49 of Wildwood, is president and owner of Missouri Foot Care Centers Inc. Klamet holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from Cleveland State University and a doctorate from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine. Klamet’s reappointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on July 1, 2009.

 

State Committee for Professional Counselors

Verl T. Pope, 39 of Cape Girardeau, is an associate professor at Southeast Missouri State University, adjunct professor at the University of Missouri- Columbia and operates a private counseling practice. Pope holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology, a master’s in community counseling and a doctorate in counselor education and counseling from Idaho State University. Pope’s appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on Aug. 28, 2009.

 

State Committee for Social Workers

Terri R. Marty, 54 of Fulton, is director of psychiatric social work at Fulton State Hospital. Marty holds a bachelor of science from Southeast Missouri State University and a master’s of social work from the University of Missouri- Columbia. Marty’s appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on July 23, 2008.

 

State Committee of Psychologists

Jerrell L. Driver, 57 of Cape Girardeau, is a licensed psychologist and operates a private practice in Jackson. Driver holds a doctorate from the University of Missouri- Kansas City. Driver’s appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on Aug. 28, 2008.

 

Workers’ Compensation Determination Review Board

Steven D. Millikan (R), 59 of Columbia, is vice president of strategic business development for Missouri Employers Mutual Insurance. Millikan holds a bachelor’s degree in business and public administration from the University of Missouri. Millikan’s appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on March 3, 2007.
