Blunt Makes Appointments to State Boards, Commissions and Councils

JEFFERSON CITY–Gov. Matt Blunt announced the appointments of members to serve on several boards, commissions and councils.


Child Abuse and Neglect Review Board

Brian D. Dunlop, 52 of Webster Groves, is a partner at the law firm of Dunlop and McCarter. Dunlop holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a juris doctorate from Washburn University. Dunlop’s appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on April 7, 2008.

Vincent D. Hillyer, 45 of St. James, is executive director of the Boys and Girls Town of Missouri. Hillyer holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Northern Colorado and a master’s of social work from the University of Missouri. Hillyer’s appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on April 7, 2008.


Missouri Cotton Growers’ Organization Board of Directors

Charles H. Parker, 63 of Senath, is owner/manager of Parker and Jones Farms. Parker holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and business from Harding University in Arkansas. Parker’s reappointment is for a term ending on June 26, 2007.


Missouri Women’s Council

Sarah R. Murray (D), 34 of Kansas City, is associate program leader at Hallmark Cards, Inc. Murray holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Westminster College and a master’s of business administration from Rockhurst University. Murray’s appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on Dec. 6, 2007.


Public Defender Commission

Miller M. Leonard (R), 32 of Platte City, is an associate attorney at Keleher & Eastman. Leonard holds a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Kansas and a juris doctorate from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Leonard’s appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on Dec. 30, 2011.


Sentencing Commission

John P. Banas, 51 of St. Peters, was elected prosecuting attorney for St. Charles County in 1999. Banas holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Southeast Missouri State University, a master’s of criminal justice administration from Central Missouri State University and a juris doctorate from Saint Louis University. Banas’ appointment is for a term ending at the pleasure of the governor.

Mark D. Mittleman, 59 of St. Louis City, is an attorney at Stewart, Mittleman, Heggie & Henry, L.L.C. Mittleman holds a bachelor’s degree from Harvard University and a law degree from the University of Virginia. Mittleman’s appointment is for a term ending at the pleasure of the governor.
