Blunt Makes Appointments to State Boards and Commissions
JEFFERSON CITY– Gov. Matt Blunt announced appointments of members who will serve on various state boards and commissions.
Advisory Committee for 911 Service Oversight
Elizabeth M. Pierson, 45 of Norborne, is director of the Carroll County Communication Center. Ms. Pierson holds certificates in basic telecommunicator instruction and emergency medical dispatching. Her appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on April 9, 2008.
Coordinating Board for Early Childhood
Karen W. Bartz, 64 of Kansas City, is community development manager for Hallmark Cards. Ms. Bartz holds a bachelor's degree and masters from Washington State University and a doctorate in adult family life education from the University of Wyoming. Her appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending at the pleasure of the governor.
Brenda K. Shields, 44 of St. Joseph, is the president and CEO of the United Way of Greater St. Joseph. Ms. Shields holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Her appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending at the pleasure of the governor.
Dam and Reservoir Safety Council
David E. Hamilton (D), 53 of Macon, is a consulting engineering for Shafer, Kline & Warren, Inc. Mr. Hamilton holds a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the University of Missouri-Rolla. His reappointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on April 3, 2009.
Elevator Safety Board
James A. Marchack, 58 of Glencoe, is president of National Elevator Inspection Services, Inc. Mr. Marchack holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Pittsburgh State University. His reappointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on June 6, 2011.
Suzan J. Mehalko, 51 of Lee's Summit, is an engineering service administrator with ThyssenKrupp Access. Ms. Mehalko has served on the board since 1995. Her reappointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on June 6, 2010.
Hispanic Business, Trade Culture Commission
Claudio E. Perez-Korinko (D), 46 of Kansas City, is president of IM International Marketing, LLC. Mr. Perez-Korinko holds a bachelor's degree and masters from Baker University. His appointment is for a term ending on Nov. 30, 2007
Missouri Real Estate Appraisers Commission
Julie A. Molendorp (R), 36 of Belton, is an assistant Kansas City branch manager at Instant Certified Appraisals, L.L.C. Ms. Molendorp holds a bachelor's degree and masters in education from Central Missouri State University. Her appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on Sept. 12, 2008.
Northwest Missouri State University Board of Regents
Lydia C. Hurst (R), 32 of Tarkio, is an assistant manager at Flower Mill. Ms. Hurst holds a bachelor's degree in marketing from Northwest Missouri State University. Her reappointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending Jan. 1, 2013.
State Committee of Psychologists
Dr. Mark H. Kinder, 49 of Cape Girardeau, is a staff psychologist at St. Francis Medical Center. Dr. Kinder holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from Tulane University, masters in counseling and a doctorate in counseling psychology from the University of Missouri-Columbia. His appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on Aug. 28, 2011.
Truman State University Board of Governors
Dr. Cheryl J. Cozette (R), 56 of Columbia, is the assistant superintendent of curriculum and instruction for the Columbia Public Schools. Dr. Cozette holds a bachelor's degree in history from Kansas City College and Bible School, masters in elementary education from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and doctorate in educational administration from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Her appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on Jan. 1, 2011.
