Blunt Makes Appointments to State Boards, Commissions and Councils

JEFFERSON CITY–Gov. Matt Blunt announced appointments of members who will serve on several boards, commissions and councils.

Advisory Committee on Lead Poisoning

Donald W. Koen, 62 of Farmington, is a lead abatement inspector, lead supervisor and project designer with the City of St. Louis Building Division. Koen is also operations manager for MDK Technology LLC. Koen holds a master’s of business management from National-Lewis University in Illinois. Koen’s appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on April 15, 2007.

Children’s Trust Fund Board

Margaret (Peggy) Krokstrom, 43 of Chesterfield, is the owner of Krokstrom Consulting and a consultant with Scholastic, Inc. Krokstrom holds a bachelor’s degree in education from Southwest Missouri State University and a master’s degree in education from Washington University. Krokstrom’s appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on Sept. 15, 2008.

Citizens’ Advisory Commission for Marketing Missouri Agricultural Products

Anthony D. (Tony) Stafford, 57 of Holts Summit, is division director for Missouri Department of Agriculture and executive director of Missouri Agricultural and Small Business Development Authority. Stafford holds a bachelor’s degree in agricultural business from Southwest Missouri State University and a master’s of public administration from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Stafford’s appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on April 10, 2009.

Elevator Safety Board

Thomas J. Corso, 40 of St. Joseph, is the vice president of building operations at MC Lioness Realty Group. Corso holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from St. John’s University. Corso’s appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on June 6, 2010.

Hazardous Waste Management Commission

Norella V. Huggins (D), of Kirkwood, is a retired attorney from Armstrong Teasdale LLP, where she specialized in environmental and public body law. Huggins holds a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Missouri-St. Louis and a juris doctorate from Washington University. Huggins’ reappointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on April 3, 2010.

Land Reclamation Commission

John Riffle (D), of Pleasant Hill, is the owner and operator of John Riffle Angus Farm. Riffle is a retired Colonel, serving during World War II. Riffle’s appointment has been confirmed by the Senate for a term ending Sept. 28, 2007.

Missouri Commission on Human Rights

Daniel E. Champion (D), 47 of Lee’s Summit, is the principal attorney in the Law Offices of Daniel E. Champion and a contract attorney for Squire, Sanders, and Dempsey, LLP. Champion holds a bachelor’s degree in legal administration and criminal justice law enforcement from Grand Valley State University and a juris doctorate from the University of Michigan. Champion’s appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending April 1, 2012.

Missouri Southern State University Board of Governors

David H. Jones, of Springfield, operates a private law firm. Jones holds a bachelor’s degree in social work from Pittsburg State University and a juris doctorate from the University of Arkansas. Jones’ appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on Aug. 30, 2011.

Eric C. Norris, 21 of Monett, is majoring in marketing and management at Missouri Southern University. Norris is the student senate president and the director of intramural sports and open recreation. Norris’ appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending Dec. 31, 2007.

Missouri State Committee of Interpreters

Andrea L. Segura, 49 of Liberty, is a sign language interpreter in the Kansas City School District. Segura is licensed and certified in sign language interpreting. Segura’s appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on Oct. 9, 2006.

Missouri Women’s Council

Sandra J. (Sandy) Jones (R), 65 of Bolivar, is executive secretary to the president of Ozarks Technical Community College. Jones holds a bachelor’s degree from Southwest Baptist University. Jones’ appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on Dec. 6, 2008.

Peace Officer Standards and Training Commission

Kenneth T. Conlee, 53 of Lee’s Summit, is the chief of police for the City of Lee’s Summit. Conlee holds a bachelor’s degree in earth science and a master’s degree in public policy from the University of Northern Iowa. Conlee’s appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending Oct. 3, 2006.
