Blunt Makes Interim Appointments to State Boards and Commissions

JEFFERSON CITY—Gov. Matt Blunt announced the interim appointments of members who will serve on several boards and commissions.

Bi- State Development Agency for the Missouri- Illinois Metropolitan District

Lewis L. McKinney, 51 of St. Louis, is group director of Government Strategies for Anheuser-Busch Companies, Inc. McKinney holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from St. Louis University. McKinney’s appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on Nov. 11, 2009.

Corrections Officers Certification Commission

Robert Davis, 49 of Montgomery City, is currently serving his third term as Sheriff of Montgomery County. Davis was elected Sheriff in 1996. He is a member of the Mid-Missouri Major Case Squad, Missouri Child Fatality Review Board and Missouri Sheriff’s Association. Davis’ appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on Oct. 30, 2006.

Greg White, 53 of Jefferson City, is Sheriff of Cole County. White holds a bachelor’s degree in recreation administration from Central Missouri State University. White’s appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on Oct. 30, 2006.

County Employees Retirement Fund

Peggy Kubicek, 55 of Springfield, is a financial advisor for Waddell & Reed, Inc. Kubicek holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and a master’s in secondary school administration from Southwest Missouri State University. Kubicek’s appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on Dec. 31, 2009.

Missouri Commission on Human Rights

Adolfo Castillo (R), 59 of Joplin, is self-employed as a consultant working with local politicians to promote Hispanic involvement in government issues. Castillo holds a bachelor’s degree in occupational education from Wayland Baptist University in San Antonio, Texas. Castillo’s appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on April 1, 2006.

Joanne M. Collins (R), 70 of Kansas City, retired from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development in 2000. Collins holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Stephens College and a master’s in management from Baker University in Kansas. Collins appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on April 1, 2011.

Jaye A. Jackson (D), 47 of Mexico, is a material controller for Ameren-UE. Jackson holds a bachelor’s degree in business education from Columbia College and a master’s in education from William Woods University. Jackson’s appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on April 1, 2011.

Missouri Training and Employment Council

Anita L. Coulter, 42 of Conception Junction, is human resource manager for Kawasaki Motors Manufacturing Corp. at the Maryville plant. Coulter holds a bachelor’s degree from Northwest Missouri State University. Coulter’s appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on Aug. 28, 2008.

Christopher D. Filer, 33 of Garden City, is plant manager for NeCo Seed Farm Inc. Filer’s appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on Aug. 28, 2008.

Mary K. Meek, 60 of Springfield, serves as a board member for Commerce Bank of Springfield, Springfield Business and Development Corporation, Child Advocacy Center, and Community Foundation of the Ozarks Advisory Council. Meek holds a bachelor’s degree in education for the University of Missouri. Meek’s appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on Aug. 28, 2008.

Regional Convention and Sports Complex Authority

Thomas Irwin (D), 54 of Ballwin, is senior vice president of public policy at the St. Louis Regional Chamber and Growth Association. Irwin holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Massachusetts and a graduate degree from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. Irwin’s appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on May 31, 2006.
