Blunt Makes Appointments to State Boards and Commissions

JEFFERSON CITY–Gov. Matt Blunt announced appointments of members who will serve on various boards and commissions.

Coordinating Board for Higher Education

Anthony Thompson (D), 45 of St. Louis, is president of Kwame Building Group. Thompson holds a bachelor’s degree in architectural engineering from the University of Kansas, a master’s in business administration from Webster University and a master’s in civil engineering from Washington University. Thompson’s appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on June 27, 2012.

Missouri Agricultural and Small Business Development Authority

Rosanne M. Hays (D), 38 of Monroe City, is office manager for JC Shoemyer Inc. Hays holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Quincy University. Hays’ appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on June 30, 2010.

Missouri Development Finance Board

Larry D. Neff (D), 66 of Neosho, is president of Larry Neff Management and Development, Inc. Neff is chairman of the Neosho Chamber of Commerce Economic Development Committee. Neff’s appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on Sept. 14, 2010.

Missouri Fire Education Trust Fund

Randy L. Cole, of Jefferson City, is the state fire marshal. Cole holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice administration from Central Missouri State University. Cole’s appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending at the pleasure of the governor.

Missouri Sheriff Methamphetamine Relief Task Force

Richard L. Anderson (R), 64 of DeKalb, is sheriff of Platte County. Anderson holds a bachelor’s degree in law enforcement from Central Missouri State University. Anderson’s appointment is for a term ending on Oct. 1, 2007.

Thomas D. Greenwell (D), 48 of Hayti, is sheriff of Pemiscot County. Greenwell is director of the Bootheel Drug Task Force. Greenwell’s appointment is for a term ending on Oct. 1, 2007.

Jonathan D. Jordan (R), 45 of Jackson, is sheriff of Cape Girardeau County. Jordan is a former major case squad commander. Jordan is a graduate of the National Sheriff’s Institute. Jordan’s appointment is for a term ending on Oct. 1, 2007.

Jack L. Merritt (R), 61 of Republic, is sheriff of Greene County. Merritt retired from the Missouri State Highway Patrol as a captain. Merritt’s appointment is for a term ending on Oct. 1, 2007.

Stuart D. Miller (D), 52 of Mexico, is sheriff of Audrain County. Miller holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and business administration from Truman State University. Miller’s appointment is for a term ending on Oct. 1, 2007.

Missouri Training and Employment Council

John (Gil) Kennon, 53 of Farmington, is dean of career and technical education at Mineral Area College. Kennon holds a bachelor’s degree in business education from Southwest Missouri State University and a master’s in education from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Kennon’s appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on Aug. 28, 2010.

Missouri Women’s Council

Lorene J. James (R), 60 of Kansas City, is director of adult basic education and corollary programs for the Kansas City School District. James holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Central Missouri State University and a master’s of education from Kansas State University. James’ appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on Dec. 6, 2008.

Small Business Compliance Advisory Committee

Truman (Robin) Cole III, of Cape Girardeau, is employed with Copi-Rite, Inc. Cole holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Christian Brothers University. Cole’s appointment is for a term ending on May 23, 2010.
