Blunt Appoints Members to Compensation Commission
JEFFERSON CITY–Gov. Matt Blunt today appointed four members to the Missouri Citizens’ Commission on Compensation for Elected Officials.
The commission is comprised of 22 members. The governor with the advice and consent of the Senate appoints 12 members. The commission is responsible for setting the compensation of state officials, General Assembly members and judges.
The governor appointed the following individuals to the commission:
- Patrick E. Barr (R), 51 of Lamar, is an investment representative for Edward Jones. Barr holds a bachelor’s degree from Missouri State University. Barr’s appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on Feb. 1, 2008.
- Herbert S. Dill (D), 56 of O’Fallon, is president for Amalgamated Transit Union Local 788. Dill served in the U.S. Army from March 1968 until January 1971. Dill’s appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on Feb. 1, 2008.
- Michael D. King (R), 54 of Washington, is franchise owner of Express Personnel Service. King holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Drake University. King’s appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on Feb. 1, 2008.
- Jack E. Pohrer (R), 66 of St. Louis, is the CEO/chairman of St. Louis Parking Company. Pohrer holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Holy Cross College and a juris doctorate from St. Louis University. Pohrer’s appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on Feb. 1, 2008.
