Blunt Makes Appointments to State Boards, Commissions and Councils

JEFFERSON CITY–Gov. Matt Blunt announced the appointments of members who will serve on several boards, commissions and councils.

 

Board of Therapeutic Massage

Dawn Standley, 40 of Osage Beach, is the owner of American Physical Therapy, L.L.C. Standley holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Tennessee and a master’s in physical therapy from Baylor University. Standley’s appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on June 17, 2007.

 

Citizens’ Advisory Committee on Corrections

Peggy A. Patterson, 59 of Lee’s Summit, is a member of the Missouri Division of Youth Services Advisory Board. Patterson holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Missouri- Kansas City. Patterson’s appointment is for a term ending on Sept. 10, 2008.

 

Dam and Reservoir Safety Council

Eugene J. Hites (D), 53 of Bonne Terre, is a mine and mill superintendent for the Doe Run Company. Hites holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the Rolla School of Mines, now known as the University of Missouri- Rolla. Hites’ appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on April 3, 2006.

 

Lincoln University Board of Curators

Gurnie C. Gunter (D), 72 of Kansas City, is the former director for the Kansas City Water Services Department. Gunter holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from Lincoln University, a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and a master’s in civil engineering from the University of Illinois- Champaign, a master’s in military science from the Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth and a master’s in business administration management from Shippensburg University in Pennsylvania. Gunter’s appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on Jan. 1, 2010.

 

Missouri Commission on Human Rights

David C. Zimmerman (D), 51 of Crystal City, is the president and business manager of the Sheet Metal Workers’ Local #36. Zimmerman serves as the managing trustee of all the local trust funds. He chairs and directs all of the regular and special meetings, executive board meetings, Apprentice Committee and daily affairs for the Sheet Metal Workers’ Local #36. Zimmerman’s appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on April 1, 2010.

 

Missouri Community Service Commission

Judith A. Moskoff (R), 54 of Ladue, is an executive board member, first vice president for the Volunteer Service Council of Saint Louis, Inc. Moskoff holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing and management from Southwest Missouri State. Moskoff’s appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on Dec. 12, 2007.

Angela N. Stiffler (R), 37 of Kansas City, is the archival director, college curator at the Partee Center for Baptist Historical Studies at William Jewell College. Stiffler holds a bachelor’s degree in public relations and history from William Jewell College and a master’s of applied history from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Stiffler’s appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on Dec. 12, 2007.

Stanley D. Whitehurst (R), 39 of Marshfield, is the county clerk for Webster County. Whitehurst holds a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Tulsa. Whitehurst’s appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on Dec. 12, 2007.

 

Missouri Higher Education Loan Authority

James F. Mauze, 66 of St. Louis, is a principal in the law firm of Ottsen, Mauze, Leggat & Belz, L.C. Mauze holds a bachelor’s degree from Westminster College and graduated from Washington University School of Law. Mauze’s appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on Oct. 22, 2010.

 

Missouri Real Estate Commission

Charles W. Davis, 73 of Wildwood, is president of Re/Max Properties West. Davis holds a bachelor’s degree in math from the University of Arkansas- Fayetteville. Davis’ appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on Oct. 16, 2011.

 

Missouri Technology Corporation

Daniel P. Mehan, 41 of Jefferson City, is president and CEO of the Missouri Chamber of Commerce. Mehan holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Pennsylvania. Mehan’s appointment is for a term ending on Oct. 7, 2006.

 

Seismic Safety Commission

Robert B. Herrmann, 60 of St. Louis, is a professor at Saint Louis University. Herrmann holds a bachelor’s degree from Xavier University and a doctorate from Saint Louis University. Herrmann’s reappointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on July 1, 2008.

 

State Soil and Water Districts Commission

Leon Kreisler (R), 69 of Salem, is the owner of a commercial cow/calf operation specializing in management intensive grazing. Kreisler holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the University of Missouri-Rolla and a master’s in business administration from the University of Illinois-Champaign. Kreisler’s reappointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on Aug. 15, 2008.

Baughn T. Meredith (D), 50 of Caruthersville, is the co-owner and manager of Meredith Farms, Inc and is a Pemiscot County Farm Bureau Insurance Agent. Meredith holds a bachelor’s degree in agriculture from Southeast Missouri State University. Meredith’s appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on Aug. 15, 2006.
