Blunt Makes Appointments to State Boards and Commissions
JEFFERSON CITY–Gov. Matt Blunt announced appointments of members who will serve on various boards and commissions.
Harris-Stowe State University Board of Regents
Charles H. Hoessle, 75 of St. Louis, retired as director emeritus from the St. Louis Zoo. Hoessle holds an associates degree from Harris Teachers College. He is the recipient of honorary doctorates from St. Louis University and University of Missouri-St. Louis. Hoessle’s reappointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on July 28, 2012.
Missouri Cotton Growers’ Organization Board of Directors
Albert (Riley) James, 34 of New Madrid, is the operations manager of A.C. Riley Cotton Co., LLC. James holds a bachelor’s degree in agricultural economics from Mississippi State University and a master’s of business administration from Washington University. James’ appointment is for a term ending on June 26, 2008.
Missouri State Committee of Interpreters
Andrea Segura, 49 of Liberty, is a freelance interpreter. Segura holds an associate degree in applied science sign language interpreter. Segura’s reappointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on Oct. 9, 2010.
Missouri Training and Employment Council
Joseph V. Knodell, 61 of Poplar Bluff, is a city planner for Poplar Bluff. Knodell holds a bachelor’s degree in history from Arkansas State University and a master’s of elementary school supervision and special degree in school administration from Southeast Missouri State University. Knodell’s appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on Aug. 28, 2009.
Cheryl L. Thruston, 53 of Jefferson City, is director of the Dislocated Worker Program for the Missouri AFL-CIO. Thruston holds a bachelor’s degree in special education from Avila College and a master’s of elementary teaching from Lincoln University. Thruston’s appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on Aug. 28, 2008.
Missouri Wine and Grape Board
Cara J. Stauffer, 44 of Jefferson City, is vice president of Native Stone Vineyard Inc. Stauffer holds a bachelor’s degree in liberal studies from Lincoln University. Stauffer’s reappointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on Oct. 28, 2010.
Organ Donation Advisory Committee
Ronald J. Walkenbach, 58 of Columbia, is executive director of the Missouri Lions Eye Research Foundation. Walkenbach holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Quincy College and a doctorate in pharmacology from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Walkenbach’s reappointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on Jan. 1, 2010.
State Committee of Dietitians
Rita K. Duncan (R), 50 of Weldon Spring, is executive director of the St. Louis District Dairy Council. Duncan holds a bachelor’s degree in home economics from Drury University and a master’s of food science from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Duncan’s appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on June 11, 2010.
Suicide Prevention Advisory Committee
Sheila R. Osborn, 42 of Independence, is assistant director of National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) of Greater Kansas City. Osborn’s appointment is for a term ending on Oct. 1, 2008.
