Blunt Appoints Members to State Boards, Commissions and Councils

 

JEFFERSON CITY - Gov. Matt Blunt has appointed members to serve on several boards, commissions and councils.

Advisory Commission for Anesthesiologist Assistants

Dr. Charles A. Bowen, of St. Charles is an anesthesiologist with Western Anesthesiology Associates, Inc. Bowen received a bachelor’s degree in biology from Eckerd College in Florida, doctorate in anatomy from the University of South Florida and medical degree from the St. Louis University School of Medicine. Bowen’s appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on July 1, 2007.

Dr. Timothy J.P. Cooper of St. Charles is a partner with Woods Mill Anesthesia, Inc. Cooper received a bachelor’s degree in biology and psychology from Washington University and a medical degree from the University of Florida College of Medicine. Cooper’s appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on July 1, 2008.

Thomas J. Fritzlen, Jr. of Kansas City is an attorney with Martin, Leigh, Laws & Fritzlen, PC. Fritzlen received a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Kansas and a juris doctorate from the University of Missouri- Columbia. Fritzlen’s appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on July 1, 2008.

Dr. James B. Kelly, Jr. of Kansas City is an anesthesiologist at St. Luke’s Hospital. Kelly received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri- Columbia and medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine. Kelly’s appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on July 8, 2008.

Advisory Commission for Marketing Missouri Agricultural Products

Thomas J. Held of Hermann is director of sales and advertising at Stone Hill Winery. Held received a bachelor’s degree in food service from the University of Arkansas. Held’s appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on April 10, 2009.

Credit Union Commission

Harold E. (Hal) James of Columbia is president and chief executive officer of Mizzou Credit Union. James received a bachelor’s degree in business administration and finance from the University of Missouri- Columbia. James’ appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on Jan. 1, 2007.

Hazardous Waste Management Commission

Paul R. Schmidt, Sr. of Imperial is co-owner of Fax-Link, Inc. Schmidt is also a partner with Caen, Leach & McLean Insurance Agency. Schmidt’s appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on April 3, 2009.

Derrick S. Standley of Osage Beach is a principal with Genesis Solid Waste Group, Inc. Standley received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Columbia College. Standley’s appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on April 3, 2008.

Susan B. Williamson of Columbia operates an 1800 acre crop and livestock farm in Boone County. Williamson also works part-time as a registered nurse at Boone Clinic. Williamson received an associate’s degree in nursing from Southeastern Community College in Iowa. Williamson’s appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on April 3, 2008.

Interior Design Council

Donald R. England of Columbia is an interior design associate with University of Missouri Healthcare. England received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri- Columbia College of Environmental Design and a certificate of airbrush arts from the Dember School of Airbrush Design in California. England’s appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on April 6, 2009.

Missouri Community Service Commission

Jay B. Knudtson of Cape Girardeau is executive vice president of First Missouri State Bank. Knudtson is a graduate of the University of Minnesota. Knudtson’s appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on Dec. 15, 2007.

Claudette M. Scott of Kansas City is an instructional facilitator with the Kansas City School District. Scott received a bachelor’s degree in education from Lincoln University and a master’s in education from Southeast Missouri State University. Scott’s appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on Dec. 15, 2006.

Missouri Development Finance Board

Louis B. Eckelkamp, Jr. of Washington is chairman of the board and chief executive officer of the Bank of Washington. Eckelkamp received a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Notre Dame and a juris doctorate from the University of Missouri- Columbia Law School. Eckelkamp’s appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on Sept. 14, 2007.

Personnel Advisory Board

Paul D. Bloch of California is an independent contractor agent for State Farm Insurance Companies and partner at Paul Bloch & Associates. Bloch received a bachelor’s degree from Lincoln University and a master’s in public administration from the University of Missouri. Bloch’s appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on July 31, 2010.

Duncan E. Kincheloe of Jefferson City is general manager and chief executive officer of Missouri Public Utility Alliance. Kincheloe received a bachelor’s degree in history and political science and a juris doctorate from the University of Missouri- Kansas City. Kincheloe’s appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on July 31, 2010.

Public Defender Commission

Miller M. Leonard of Platte City is an associate attorney at Keleher & Eastman. Miller received a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Kansas and a juris doctorate from the University of Missouri- Kansas City. Miller’s appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on Dec. 30, 2005.
