Blunt Appoints Beer to Clay County Election Board; Names Officers
KANSAS CITY—Gov. Matt Blunt has appointed Judith L. Beer (D) to the Clay County Board of Election Commissioners.
Beer, 59 of Gladstone, is an adjunct professor at Park University. Beer holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Central Missouri State University and a master’s in elementary education from Northwest Missouri State University. Beer is a member of the Northland Diversity Council and Sister Cities Commission for Gladstone. Beer’s appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on June 15, 2009. She replaces Stuart Hunt.
James B. Chappell (R), 62 of Kansas City, a current commission member, has been named chairman of the election board.
Gerald L. Randall (D), 74 of Kansas City, also a current commission member, has been named secretary/ treasurer of the election board.
