Blunt Appoints Hunter Johnson County Recorder of Deeds

 

WARRENSBURG—Gov. Matt Blunt appointed Freddie Hunter to serve as interim Recorder of Deeds for Johnson County.

Hunter, of Warrensburg, owns Hunter Bookkeeping/Tax Service. Hunter is a CPA and attended Central Missouri State University. He has worked in accounting for more than 40 years and served as Johnson County Auditor from 1984 to 1988. He is a member of the Sedalia West Central Archeological Society, president of Liberty Cemetery Association a former Warrensburg Jaycee.

In order to ensure real estate and other transactions related to the recorder’s office may be completed, Hunter has agreed to serve until his successor is duly elected or appointed and qualified. Blunt will appoint a permanent Johnson County Recorder before the end of the month to serve out the remainder of Laurie Mifflin’s term.
