Blunt to Appoint Brackman to 42nd Judicial Court

STEELVILLE–Gov. Matt Blunt will appoint John C. Brackman as the Associate Circuit Judge of the 42nd Judicial Circuit.

Brackman, 65 of Berryman, served as circuit judge for Franklin, Gasconade and Osage Counties from 1976 until his retirement in 2000. Brackman is a graduate of Washington University. He served as a judge advocate in both the U.S. Air Force Reserves and the Missouri National Guard.

"I am pleased John Brackman has agreed to accept this important position," Blunt said. "He brings a wealth of knowledge and legal expertise to the 42nd Circuit and will serve Missourians with a sense of fairness and commitment to interpreting the law rather than attempting to write the law."

Brackman will fill the vacancy created by the elevation of Judge Kent Howald for a term ending on Dec. 31, 2006. His appointment will be effective December 1.
