Blunt Makes Appointments to State Boards and Commissions

JEFFERSON CITY– Gov. Matt Blunt announced appointments of members who will serve on various state boards and commissions.

Advisory Committee for 911 Service Oversight

Betty A. Knight, 59 of Platte City, is presiding commissioner of Platte County. Ms. Knight holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Her appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on April 9, 2009.

Children's Trust Fund Board

Kimberley J. Mathis, 34 of St. Louis, is an attorney at Blackwell Sanders Peper Martin. Ms. Mathis's focus is in the areas of labor, employment and education. She holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Saint Louis University and a juris doctorate from Washington University. Her appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on Sept. 15, 2009.

Mental Health Transformation Working Group

Robert D. Qualls, 67 of Springfield, retired as director of the Hope Center in 2006. Mr. Qualls holds a bachelor's degree from Harding College. His appointment is for a term ending at the pleasure of the governor.

Missouri Advisory Commission for Physicians Assistants

Christina L. Bruning, 33 of St. Louis, is a physician assistant at Premier Care Orthopedics. Ms. Bruning holds a bachelor's degree in biology from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and masters of physician assistant studies from the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Her appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on March 27, 2009.

Missouri State Park Advisory Board

Jerry B. Hollingsworth, 58 of St. Peters, is vice president at St. Charles Insurance. Mr. Hollingsworth holds a bachelor's degree from Parsons College. His appointment is for a term ending on April 15, 2009.
