Blunt Makes Appointments to State Boards and Commissions

JEFFERSON CITY– Gov. Matt Blunt announced appointments of members who will serve on various state boards and commissions.

Governor's Advisory Council on Physical Fitness and Health

Nanci C. Gonder, 47 of Jefferson City, is the chief public information officer at the Department of Health and Senior Services. Ms. Gonder holds a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Her appointment is for a term ending on June 30, 2008.

Michael D. Kelly, 44 of Columbia, is the director of broadcast operations at the University of Missouri. Mr. Kelly holds a bachelor's degree in radio and television from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale. His appointment is for a term ending on June 30, 2009.

Alane C. Lidolph, 25 of Columbia, is the director of consumer information for the Missouri Beef Council. Ms. Lidolph holds a bachelor's degree in foods and nutrition and a master's in health and physical education from Northwest Missouri State University. Her appointment is for a term ending on June 30, 2009.

Katherine L. Nevans, 50 of Independence, is the president of Missouri PTA. Ms. Nevans holds a bachelor's degree in history from University of Northern Iowa. Her appointment is for a term ending on June 30, 2008.

Joseph E. Pierle, 36 of Jefferson City, is the executive director of the Missouri Primary Care Association. Mr. Pierle holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Kansas and master's in public administration from George Mason University. His appointment is for a term ending on June 30, 2010.

Dr. Gerald W. Wilmes, 52 of Maryville, is the director of health services at Northwest Missouri State University. Dr. Wilmes holds a bachelor's degree from Northwest Missouri State University and a doctorate from the University of Missouri - Columbia. His appointment is for a term ending on June 30, 2009.

Michael L. Yarbrough, 42 of Black Jack, is the manager of Community Outreach and Youth Football Programs with the St. Louis Rams. Mr. Yarbrough holds a bachelor's degree in history from Washington University and holds a master's in public administration and policy analysis from Southern Illinois University. His appointment is for a term ending on June 30, 2010.

Missouri Medal of Valor Review Board

Stephen V. Cox, 42 of Chillicothe, is the sheriff of Livingston County. Sheriff Cox has been in law enforcement for over 21 years. His appointment is for a term ending on April 3, 2011.

Victoria C. Myers, 63 of Jefferson City, is the director of human services at the Department of Corrections. Ms. Myers holds a bachelor's degree in sociology from Indiana University and a master's in corrections from Webster University. Her appointment is for a term ending on April 3, 2011.
