Blunt Makes Appointments to State Boards and Commissions
JEFFERSON CITY -Gov. Matt Blunt announced appointments of members who will serve on several boards, commissions and councils.
Harris-Stowe State University Board of Regents
Wayman F. Smith (D), 66 of St. Louis City, is an attorney with Smith Partnership. Mr. Smith holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Monmouth University and a juris doctorate from Howard University. His reappointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on July 28, 2012.
Mental Health Transformation Working Group
Heidi J. Atkins-Lieberman, 46 of Tebbetts, is assistant commissioner with the Division of Special Education at the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. Ms. Atkins-Lieberman holds a bachelor's degree in political science from City University of New York and a juris doctorate from the University of Arkansas-Fayetteville. Her appointment is for a term ending at the pleasure of the governor.
Edwin (Benton) Goon, 56 of Jefferson City, is a senior research investigator at the Missouri Institute of Mental Health. Mr. Goon holds a bachelor's degree in psychology and social science from Truman State University and master's of social work from the University of Missouri-Columbia. His appointment is for a term ending at the pleasure of the governor.
Dr. John B. Heskett, 59 of St. Louis, is director of the Office of Comprehensive Children's Mental Health at the Department of Mental Health. Mr. Heskett holds a bachelor's degree and master's in speech pathology from Southeast Missouri State University, and a doctorate in educational administration from the University of Missouri. His appointment is for a term ending at the pleasure of the governor.
Joseph J. Parks, 49 of Columbia, is medical director and director of the Division of Comprehensive Psychiatric Services at the Department of Mental Health. Dr. Parks holds a bachelor's degree in chemistry and medical degree from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. His appointment is for a term ending at the pleasure of the governor.
Missouri Advisory Council on Historic Preservation
Jimmy Dale Morris, 72 of Springfield, is owner of Morris Oil Company, Inc. Mr. Morris has served on several boards including the Ozarks Marketing Council, several bank boards and AMOCO's National Advisory Board. His appointment is for a term ending on Nov. 15, 2007.
Missouri State Penitentiary Redevelopment Commission
Daniel K. Carr (R), 45 of Liberty, is senior vice president with CB Richard Ellis. Mr. Carr holds a bachelor's degree from Truman State University. His appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on March 3, 2008.
Pamela S. Neugebauer (R), 48 of Holts Summit, is president of Roy A. Scheperle Construction Company. Ms. Neugebauer holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Denver. Her appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on March 3, 2009.
Darrell B. Roegner, 67 of Lake St. Louis, is regional president of Premier Bank. Mr. Roegner holds a bachelor's degree in economics from St. Louis University. His appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on March 3, 2008.
Truman State University Board of Governors
Kenneth L. Read (R), 57 of Kirksville, is broker/owner of Heritage House Reality. Mr. Read holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Northeast Missouri State University. His appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on Jan. 1, 2013.
University of Central Missouri Board of Governors
Walter R. Hicklin (D), 67 of Gravois Mills, retired after 45 years in secondary and higher education. Mr. Hicklin holds a bachelor's degree in mathematics from Missouri Valley College and master's in mathematics and a educational specialist degree from Central Missouri State University. His appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on Jan. 1, 2013.
