Blunt Makes Appointments to State Boards and Commissions

JEFFERSON CITY–Gov. Matt Blunt announced appointments of members who will serve on several boards, commissions and councils.

Advisory Committee for 911 Service Oversight

Roger D. Porter, 55 of Columbia, is director of information security for the Office of Administration. Mr. Porter holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Columbia College. His appointment as the representative of the Missouri National Emergency Number Association is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on April 9, 2011.

Amber Alert System Oversight Committee

Michael (Mick) R. Covington, 55 of Columbia, is executive director of the Missouri Sheriff's Association. Mr. Covington holds a bachelor's degree in law enforcement from Truman State University. His appointment as a sheriff association representative is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on Oct. 20, 2007.

Missouri Community Service Commission

Andres M. Dominguez (D), 48 of Parkville, is a senior community affairs advisor for the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. Mr. Dominguez holds a bachelor's degree in public affairs from the University of Saint Mary and master's in education from Kansas State University. His reappointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on Dec. 15, 2009.

Missouri Military Preparedness and Enhancement Commission

Jeffrey W. Bloemker (R), 32 of Smithville, is a federal government affairs specialist with Cerner Corporation. Mr. Bloemker holds a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Minnesota-Minneapolis. His appointment is for a term ending on May 27, 2010.

Missouri Real Estate Appraisers Commission

Janice M. Jones (R), 56 of Lee's Summit, is the owner of Appraisal Solutions. Ms. Jones holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Central Oklahoma. Her appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on Sept. 12, 2009.

Missouri Small Business Regulatory Fairness Board

Nancy B. Zurbuchen, 51 of Kansas City, is president of Motional Multimedia and is the cofounder and director of the Kansas City Council of Women Business Owners. Ms. Zurbuchen holds a bachelor's degree in education and master's in communication studies from the University of Kansas. Her appointment is for a term ending on April 30, 2008.

State Board of Health

Dr. Anne E. Petersen (R), 31 of Jefferson City, is a general surgeon with the Jefferson City Medical Group. Dr. Peterson holds a bachelor's degree from Whittier College and medical degree from Saint Louis University. Her appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on Oct. 13, 2009.

Dr. Nathalie L. Tungesvik (R), 41 of Jefferson City, is the owner and operator of Westside Dental Practices. Dr. Tungesvik holds a bachelor's degree and doctorate of dental surgery from the University of Iowa. Her appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on Oct. 13, 2010.

Dr. Michael L. Weaver (D), 53 of Kansas City, is the vice president of clinical diversity at St. Luke's Health System. Dr. Weaver holds a bachelor's degree and medical degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. His appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on Oct. 13, 2009.
