Blunt Appoints Scott to Bi-State Development Agency of the Missouri- Illinois Metropolitan District

 

ST. LOUIS - Gov. Matt Blunt announced the appointment of Hugh Scott, III, to the Bi-State Development Agency of the Missouri- Illinois Metropolitan District.

Scott, of Clayton, is vice president/ managing director of investment banking for Stifle Nicolaus & Co. He is currently the advisory director for the U.S. Bank of St. Louis Board of Directors. Scott received a bachelor’s degree from Yale University.

Scott has been actively involved in several professional activities including the St. Louis Regional Chamber and Growth Association, the St. Louis Chapter of the Young Presidents Organization and the World Presidents Organization.

Scott’s appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on Nov. 11, 2006. Scott replaces Shonagh K. Clements who resigned.

The Bi-State Development Agency of the Missouri- Illinois Metropolitan District (Agency) is responsible for overall leadership and policy direction for the Agency, which is comprised of five members from Illinois and five from Missouri. In Missouri, the governor selects members and in Illinois, the Chairman of the Board for both St. Clair and Madison counties appoint their representatives.

Members of the Board serve 5-year terms without compensation and must be a resident voter of their state, as well as reside within the bi-state metropolitan region. The Agency is designed to meet the needs and priorities of the region as the operator of the public transit system and the consensus developer of public works and development projects as needed.
