Blunt Announces Members to Board of Cosmetology and Barber Examiners
JEFFERSON CITY–Gov. Matt Blunt announced the following individuals as members who will serve on the Board of Cosmetology and Barber Examiners.
The Board of Cosmetology and Barber Examiners was created when Senate Bill 280 combined the Board of Barber Examiners and the Board of Cosmetology. The board is responsible for licensing all individuals employed in the areas of cosmetology, manicuring, esthetics, and barbering.
The following individuals are appointed to the commission:
- Cynthia W. Bald, 47 of Cameron, has been a cosmetologist for more than twenty-five years. Bald is a graduate of Terry’s School of Hair Fashion. The Senate confirmed Bald’s appointment for a term ending on May 1, 2010.
- Stanley G. Bevelle, 62 of Clever, is the owner of Academy of Hair Design Barber and Cosmetology School. Bevelle holds a bachelor’s degree and master’s of education from Sam Houston University. The Senate confirmed Bevelle’s appointment for a term ending on May 1, 2008.
- Annie R. Dixon, 59 of Hannibal, is a hearing reporter for the Social Security Office of Hearings and Appeals. Dixon holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from Mississippi Valley State University. The Senate confirmed Dixon’s appointment for a term ending on May 1, 2009.
- Jasper Kee, 72 of Kansas City, is vice president of the State Board of Barber Examiners and owner of Ivy League Barber Shop. The Senate confirmed Kee’s appointment for a term ending on May 1, 2010.
- Thelma (Gina) Kinion, 47 of Wentzville, is the owner of Elaine Steven Beauty College. Kinion holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Maryville University. The Senate confirmed Kinion’s appointment for a term ending on May 1, 2008.
- Betty J. Leake, 52 of Callaway County, is a cosmetology/esthetics instructor in the Mexico Public School system. Leake is a graduate of Redel Institute of Beauty. The Senate confirmed Leake’s appointment for a term ending on May 1, 2009.
- Kimberly K. Marshall, of Jefferson City, is the owner of Marshall and Company, LLC. Marshall has been a licensed cosmetologist for 20 years. Marshall holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Missouri-Columbia. The Senate confirmed Marshall’s appointment for a term ending on May 1, 2010.
