Blunt Appoints Members to State Boards, Committees and Commissions
JEFFERSON CITY -- Missouri Governor Matt Blunt has appointed members to serve on several boards and commissions.
Lincoln University Board of Curators
Rodney J. Boyd of St. Louis is a graduate of Lincoln University. He has his law degree from the University of Missouri, Columbia, School of Law. Boyd owns and operates a legal and governmental relations firm that provides legal and lobbying services for various corporate, governmental and individual clients. The Missouri Senate confirmed Boyd's appointment on March 10 for a term ending January 1, 2011.
Petroleum Storage and Insurance Fund Board
Donald W. McNutt of Sunset Hills is President and Co-owner of Midwest Petroleum Company. He has worked in the industry for more than 30 years, and is President of the Missouri Petroleum Marketers Association. He is a member of the Petroleum Marketer Association of America, the Illinois Petroleum Marketer Association and the St. Louis Oilmen's Club. The Missouri Senate confirmed McNutt's reappointment on March 10 for a term ending February 6, 2009.
Missouri Ethanol and Other Renewable Fuel Sources Commission
Michael D. Geske of Matthews owns and farms a 2,350 acre row crop operation. Corn is his primary crop. Geske has served as vice-president of the Missouri Corn Growers Association and has been active on the Missouri Corn Merchandising Council and the Missouri Farm Bureau. He has his Bachelors in Agricultural Economics from the University of Missouri. The Missouri Senate confirmed Geske's appointment on March 10 for a term ending March 25, 2008.
Missouri Veterinary Medical Board
Dr. Linda Hickam-Fountain of Thompson has worked in veterinary medicine for almost 15 years. She is currently serving as a Veterinarian at the Centralia Veterinary Clinic working in mixed animal practice. Hickam-Fountain attended the University of Missouri-Columbia where she received her Bachelors in Science-Agricultural Education, her Masters in Education, and her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. The Missouri Senate confirmed Dr. Hickam-Fountain’s reappointment on March 10 for a term ending August 29, 2006.
Missouri Housing Development Commission
William J. Luetkenhaus of St. Charles County represented the 12 th District in the Missouri House of Representatives for 10 years. He is the owner and broker of Luetkenhaus Properties, Inc and specializes in a wide range of real estate services including land acquisition and development. The Missouri Senate confirmed Luetkenhaus March 10 for a term ending October 13, 2007.
Missouri Fire Education Commission
Gregory M. Brown of Eureka has been a member of the Eureka Fire Protection District for more than 20 years serving in a variety of positions including firefighter, emergency medical technician, and paramedic. He has served as District Chief for the last 10 years. Brown is a certified fire inspector, fire instructor and fire investigator. He is a trained hazardous materials instructor and executive fire officer. The Missouri Senate confirmed Brown March 10 for a term ending April 26, 2008.
Corrections Officer Certification Commission
Samuel L. Shipman of Jefferson City has served as a corrections officer at Tipton Correctional Center since 1996. He is a former member of the U.S. Air Force and has his bachelors in Management from Park College. The Missouri Senate confirmed Shipman’s appointment March 10 for a term ending October 30, 2007.
State Fair Commission
William K. Blades of Shelbina operates a diversified family farm in Monroe County where he raises row crops and cattle. Blades has been operating the farm between Paris and Shelbina for forty years. He is a member of the Cattlemen’s Association, the Angus Association, the Soybean Association and Corn Growers Association, among others. Blades’ reappointment for a term ending December 29, 2008, is subject to the advice and consent of the Missouri Senate.
Life Sciences Research Committee
Donna Beck Smith of St. Louis is a certified public accountant. She is a member of Brown Smith Wallace, L.L.C. and directs their litigation and valuation service group. Smith has her Masters of Science in Finance from St. Louis University and her Bachelors of Science in Business Administration from the College of William & Mary. Smith is a member of the American Society of Appraisers, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Missouri Society of Public Accountants, the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts and the American College of Forensic Examiners. Smith’s appointment for a term ending April 8, 2006, is subject to the advice and consent of the Missouri Senate.
Regional Convention and Sports Complex Authority
Douglas A. Albrecht of St. Louis is Chairman, President, and CEO of Centric Group. He is also the current chair of the Regional Business Council Board and a member of the St. Louis Children’s Health Foundation Board. He earned a Bachelors of Science degree from the University of Missouri, Columbia. Albrecht’s appointment for a term ending May 31, 2008, is subject to the advice and consent of the Missouri Senate.
Harris-Stowe State College Board of Regents
Luther J. Rollins of St. Louis is the Senior Associate Chief Counsel for the Sara Lee Bakery Group, Inc. He has served as preceptor at Washington University School of Law and as professor at Lindenwood College. Rollins received his Bachelors from the University of Chicago, his Masters of Health Administration from St. Louis University and his law degree from the University of Texas. Rollins’ appointment for a term ending July 7, 2010, is subject to the advice and consent of the Missouri Senate.
Jackson County Sports Complex Authority
Glen Richard Hastings of Lee’s Summit is President and Chief Executive Officer of Saint Luke’s Health System and St. Luke’s Hospital. He has a Masters in Health Administration from the University of Minnesota, a Masters in Business Administration from Chapman College in California and a Bachelors of Science from the University of Okalahoma. Hastings is a former United States Air Force member and was awarded the Bronze Star in Southeast Asia. He has been awarded many distinguished honors and is a member of several professional and philanthropic organizations. Hastings’ appointment for a term ending July 15, 2009, is subject to the advice and consent of the Missouri Senate.
