Blunt Appoints Schreimann to Coordinating Board for Higher Education
JEFFERSON CITY - Gov. Matt Blunt announced the appointment of Duane E. Schreimann (D) to the Coordinating Board for Higher Education.
Schreimann, of Jefferson City, is an attorney with Schreimann, Rackers, Francka & Blunt, L.L.C. His legal experience has given him a background in insurance defense, insurance coverage issues, real estate, and creditors’ rights. Schreimann received a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and computer science from Central Missouri State University and a juris doctorate from University of Missouri- Columbia Law School. Schreimann is the former mayor of Jefferson City.
Schreimann is actively involved in several professional organizations including the American College of Trial Lawyers, the Missouri Organization of Defense Lawyers and the Defense Research Institute.
Schreimann’s appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on June 27, 2008. Schreimann replaces Robert Langdon who resigned.
The Coordinating Board for Higher Education consists of nine board members, one from each congressional district. The term of appointment is six years. No more than five of the nine members may be affiliated with the same political party, and members serve without compensation. The Coordinating Board works with the Department of Higher Education to create a supportive environment for quality higher education throughout the state.
