Blunt Congratulates the City of Carrollton on Award

 

JEFFERSON CITY – Gov. Matt Blunt extended his congratulations to the city of Carrollton as a 2005 All- America City Award winning community.

The National Civic League (NCL) All- America City Award honors communities across the nation that recognizes civic excellence, leadership, and community’s working together to address local issues. Carrollton was among 30 finalists chosen to compete for the award.

"I want to congratulate Carrollton on their recent designation as an All- America City. I know the citizens of Carrollton are proud of this special and well-deserved recognition," Blunt said.

Winning cities like Carrollton find it easier to attract and attain quality jobs after receiving the designation of an All- America City. This prestigious award helps instill a sense of pride, accomplishment and teamwork. Carrollton will benefit through a newfound sense of community collaboration.

"This award goes to the citizens of Carrollton who have really stepped up and worked hard to make Carrollton what it is today. This is a great privilege and opportunity for Carrollton and the award is one of the most prestigious awards that any community can receive," Mayor Sharon Metz said.

NCL has honored deserving communities with the All- America City Award since 1949.
