Gov. Matt Blunt Statement on Passage of Castle Doctrine

JEFFERSON CITY– Gov. Matt Blunt today issued the following statement on the General Assembly's passage of the Castle Doctrine, legislation he called for in his State of the State address:

"This important legislation ensures law-abiding Missourians will not be punished when they use force to defend themselves and their families in their own home or vehicle. It protects Missourians when they defend themselves from attack. I am pleased members of the General Assembly answered my call for this important legislation to protect our Second Amendment rights, and I look forward to signing the bill."
