Blunt Secures Federal Disaster Declaration for Clinton County
JEFFERSON CITY–Gov. Matt Blunt today announced that Missouri families and businesses in Clinton County will now begin receiving federal funding to assist with recovery efforts from May flooding.
"We have been working together to make this assistance available to Missourians in Clinton County so they can continue their recovery efforts," Blunt said. "I am very pleased that with this designation we can provide additional resources for those who were impacted by the flooding."
Blunt said the president approved his request for a Disaster Declaration for Individual Assistance for Clinton County. The Individual Assistance Disaster program will provide disaster grants or low-interest loans to families and businesses to help recover uninsured personal property and business losses.
On June 12 the governor announced that the president approved a Disaster Declaration for Individual Assistance for the following 17 counties: Andrew, Atchison, Buchanan, Carroll, Chariton, Clay, Davies, DeKalb, Gentry, Holt, Jackson, Lafayette, Livingston, Morgan, Nodaway, Osage, and Platte.
