Blunt Appoints Director and Deputy for Division of Alcohol and Tobacco Control

 

JEFFERSON CITY - Gov. Matt Blunt has appointed Dale H. Roberts as director and Michael D. Schler as deputy director for the Division of Alcohol and Tobacco Control.

Roberts, 52 of Columbia, is the chief administrative law judge for the Missouri Public Service Commission. Roberts holds a bachelor’s degree in classical civilization and Latin from Creighton University and a juris doctorate from the University of Missouri. He received an advanced degree in judicial studies from the National Judicial College at the University of Nevada- Reno.

Roberts is active in several community organizations including the Central Missouri Humane Society, Seven Oaks Homeowners Association, Inc. and is a certified safety instructor at the Green Valley Rifle and Pistol Club.

Schler, 50 of Jefferson City, is administrative services managers for the Division of Alcohol and Tobacco Control. Schler received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Central Missouri State University and is a certified public accountant.

Schler is a member of the Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants, Missouri Farm Bureau and Jefferson City Host Lions Club.

The Missouri Division of Alcohol and Tobacco Control was established to regulate the alcohol and tobacco industry in the state. Roberts and Schler will replace Keith Fuller and Lori Baskins.

Roberts’ appointment is subject to Senate confirmation.
