Blunt Nominates David Campbell to Drug Utilization and Review Board
ST. LOUIS - Missouri Governor Matt Blunt today announced David Campbell of St. Louis is his choice to serve on the Drug Utilization and Review (DUR) Board. Duties of the board include advising the Division of Medical Services, providing educational outreach to Medicaid recipients and, informing physicians and pharmacies about patients' pharmaceutical requirements.
David Campbell, 52, is a physician and educator who already serves on the DUR Board. Campbell is the president of the St. Louis based Institute for Research and Education in Family Medicine. Since 2000, Campbell has served as the director of Medical and Public Health Services for the St. Louis County Department of Health. Between 1986-1995, Campbell worked as an educator at the University of Alabama School of Medicine and the St. Louis University School of Medicine.
Campbell received a B.A. in Biology from Washington University in St. Louis, a Doctor of Medicine from the St. Louis University School of Medicine, and a Master of Education from Temple University in Philadelphia.
The DUR Board seats 13 members appointed by the governor. Campbell is one of three medical doctors who serve alongside two doctors of osteopathy, one psychiatrist, six pharmacists, and one advanced degree R.N.
The appointment of Campbell is subject to senate confirmation.
