Blunt Appoints Divincen to the Tourism Commission

 

JEFFERSON CITY— Gov. Matt Blunt announced James A. Divincen of Osage Beach to serve on the Tourism Commission.

Divincen is the executive vice president of the Lake of the Ozarks Tri-County Lodging Association. The association is responsible for administering a $2.08 million comprehensive marketing and advertising plan in a ten state region to better position and sell the Lake of the Ozarks. Divincen received a B.S. in Management and Marketing from Southwest Missouri State University.

The Tourism Commission promotes the growth of Missouri's travel industry helping creating jobs, tax revenue and economic development. The commission is designed to help meet the challenging trends in the travel and tourism industry.

Divincen replaces Consuela Washington whose term expired. The appointment of Divincen to the Tourism Commission is subject to Senate confirmation.

The governor also announced the appointment of Sharad P. Parikh, M.D. of Florissant as member of the Drug Utilization Review Board. Parikh replaces Jacquelyn Garrett whose term expired. The appointment of Parikh to the Drug Utilization Review Board is subject to Senate confirmation.
