Blunt Names Jane Drummond General Counsel
JEFFERSON CITY–Gov. Matt Blunt today appointed Jane Drummond to serve as his general counsel.
Drummond, 36, is currently the general counsel for the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS) and will replace Terry Jarrett who was recently confirmed to the Missouri Administrative Hearing Commission.
At DHSS Drummond served as primary counsel to the executive agency and advised the director and staff on a wide array of legal matters including regulatory actions and licensing. Drummond also coordinated litigation with the Missouri Attorney General’s office.
Prior to joining DHSS, Drummond was an associate attorney at the law firm of Husch and Eppenberger in Jefferson City where she performed a variety of tasks associated with general civil litigation, including motion practice, depositions and written discovery. She represented clients before state and federal courts in cases involving Title VII, the federal False Claims Act, and whistleblower claims.
“Jane brings an impressive legal background in both the public and private sectors to this position and I am pleased she has agreed to join our team,” Blunt said. “We are bringing real and positive changes to state government and Jane will make a tremendous addition to these efforts.”
Drummond holds a law degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a bachelor’s degree from Stephens College.
