Blunt Orders Flags Flown at Half-staff in Memory of Highway Patrol Officer
JEFFERSON CITY—Gov. Matt Blunt today announced that all flags at state facilities in Missouri will be flown at half-staff to honor the memory of Missouri State Highway Patrol Corporal John A. (Jay) Sampietro Jr. who was killed in the line of duty today.
Flags will remain at half-staff until dusk on the evening of funeral services honoring Corporal Sampietro. Final arrangements have not been announced.
