JEFFERSON CITY–Gov. Matt Blunt has appointed William (BJ) J. Goodwin, III as McDonald County Coroner.

Goodwin, of Anderson, is the current deputy coroner for McDonald County and owner of Ozark Funeral Homes. Goodwin obtained a degree in mortuary science from Mid-America College of Funeral Science in Indiana.

Goodwin is a member of the Anderson Lions Club, the Anderson Masonic Lodge, the Anderson, Noel, and Pineville/Jane Chambers of Commerce, and the McDonald County Jaycees Chapter.

“I am pleased that William Goodwin has agreed to continue his service to the citizens of McDonald County in his new role as coroner,” Blunt said. “His knowledge of the office and of local communities will be an asset as he assumes his new responsibilities.”
