Blunt Announces $148,750 for DREAM City Hermann
Community Totals $648,350 in State Aid since DREAM Designation
HERMANN–Gov. Matt Blunt today announced that Brush and Palette Club has been approved for $148,750 in Neighborhood Assistance state tax credits to restore the rotunda in the Upper City Park.
"Community leaders in Hermann have done an exceptional job taking advantage of the assistance available through our DREAM Initiative to reach their community revitalization and job creation goals," Blunt said. "This financial assistance will help make a historically important structure useable again and spur additional renewal efforts in the community."
Hermann is one of the 10 communities chosen for Blunt's Downtown Revitalization and Economic Assistance for Missouri (DREAM) Initiative. The initiative is designed to help small and mid-sized Missouri communities navigate through various state assistance programs to help with job creation and community betterment projects.
The Neighborhood Assistance Tax Credit Program, administered by the Missouri Department of Economic Development, provides assistance to community-based organizations that enable them to implement community or neighborhood projects in the areas of community service, education, crime prevention, job training, and physical revitalization.
Since being selected as a DREAM community, Hermann businesses and not-for-profit organizations like the Brush and Palette Club have received $648,350 in state assistance through programs administered by the Missouri Department of Economic Development.
