Blunt Nominates Lee's Summit Man to Jackson County Sports Complex Authority

 

JEFFERSON CITY - Missouri Governor Matt Blunt today nominated J. Beto Lopez of Lee's Summit to serve on the Jackson County Sports Complex Authority. The authority oversees the attainment, funding and maintenance for professional and other recreational facilities.

Beto Lopez, 35, is a real estate broker and partner at ARO Real Estate Co. Lopez has also worked as a small business lender and business developer at Bank of America and US Bank. Lopez was appointed as a commissioner for the Jackson County Sports Complex Authority by former Gov. Bob Holden in September 2004.

Lopez received a B.A. in Global Studies and Spanish from Rockhurst College and an M.B.A. from Baker University.

Lopez works with four other commissioners. The authority may seat no more than three members of a particular political party. The board, active since 1966, is charged with determining the location, funding, and design of sports facilities in Jackson County. Jackson County Sports Complex Authority leases stadium space to both the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals.
