Blunt Appoints John Porter To 30th Judicial Circuit

JEFFERSON CITY–Gov. Matt Blunt has appointed John C. Porter as Associate Circuit Judge of the 30th Judicial Circuit.

"John Porter’s experience gained from his position as prosecuting attorney and in private practice will be invaluable as he takes on the role of associate circuit judge," Blunt said.

Porter, 36 of Bolivar, has served as Polk County Prosecuting Attorney since 1999. Porter worked at the Douglas, Lynch, Haun & Kirksey law firm prior to his election as prosecuting attorney. Porter holds a bachelors degree in English from Southwest Baptist University and a juris doctorate from Oklahoma City University School of Law.

Porter will fill the vacancy created by the Honorable Gary W. Lynch’s appointment to serve on the Southern District Court of Appeals.
