JEFFERSON CITY–Gov. Matt Blunt today issued the following statement on the State Board of Education’s decision to introduce End of Course Exams by 2009 to replace the state’s MAP tests for high school students.
“I applaud the State Board of Education for working to find the best possible way to measure achievement and to ensure students are prepared for higher education and the opportunities that await them in our global economy.
“Education is my highest priority, and I will continue working with educators, administrators, community leaders, employers, parents and stakeholders to ensure Missouri students are learning the skills they need to be competitive in college and in the workforce.”
