Blunt Honors Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. at Lincoln University

JEFFERSON CITY–Gov. Matt Blunt today participated in a ceremony that celebrated the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The event also recognized the work of Missouri students that paid tribute to Dr. King’s “I Have a Dream” speech.

“The legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and the causes he courageously fought for, justice and civil rights, should be remembered by everyone,” Blunt said. “His work and ultimate sacrifice made it easier for Americans from all walks of life to participate in the greatest democracy in the world.”

During the ceremony at Lincoln University the governor presented awards to Missouri youth who incorporated the theme “I Have a Dream” to honor the dreams that Dr. King had for the rights of all men and women in the United States. The following youth received awards for their work:
