Statement from Gov. Matt Blunt on MOHELA Board Vote to Enhance Education Opportunities
Today, MOHELA board members voted to move forward with the governor's groundbreaking Lewis & Clark Discovery Initiative.“I commend the MOHELA Board for recognizing the countless benefits the Lewis and Clark Discovery Initiative has to offer our students and our state, including jobs for working families. The initiative provides much needed support for our schools. It is unfortunate that the Attorney General put politics over good public policy by using threats and intimidation to scare MOHELA board members.
“Given the broad bi-partisan support for the initiative, I am confident the General Assembly will move quickly to approve this cooperative agreement since it mirrors the plan they considered in the closing days of the last legislative session.”
