Blunt Acts on Review Commission Recommendations
JEFFERSON CITY–Gov. Matt Blunt today outlined ongoing improvements he has made to enhance government efficiency and accountability and eliminate waste in state government. The changes follow recommendations set out by the governor's Missouri State Government Review Commission (MSGRC).
“A review of state government designed to improve efficiency and services to make the most of Missouri taxpayers’ hard earned money was long overdue,” Blunt said. “I am thankful to all Missourians who provided valuable suggestions to the commission and to the commission members for their contribution to moving Missouri forward.”
Blunt established the MSGRC to conduct the first comprehensive government review in more than 30 years, to examine the executive departments from top-to-bottom and to make recommendations after receiving public input on how state government could address inefficiencies, achieve cost savings and provide better service.
Blunt recently issued several executive orders implementing select MSGRC recommendations. The orders are posted online at www.gov.mo.gov/eo/2006/eo2006.htm. For a complete list of the MSGRC recommendations visit the commission’s Internet site: http://review.mo.gov/.
