Blunt Announces Missouri Technology Corporation Has Offered Monsees Position as Executive Director
JEFFERSON CITY–Gov. Matt Blunt today announced that Rob Monsees will be leaving his position as deputy chief of staff-policy to become the Executive Director of the Missouri Technology Corporation (MTC). The MTC board voted unanimously to offer Monsees, 36, the position.
MTC is charged by law with being a focal point for creating better ways Missouri businesses can interface with universities in order to solve technical and productivity issues, for bringing more research funding and emphasis to Missouri universities and to help create new companies and jobs.
“Rob is uniquely qualified to lead the Missouri Technology Corporation and his diverse experience in state and federal government will be a great asset to them,” Blunt said. “I am deeply grateful for his service to the people of our state and to the positive contributions he has made to my administration as we have worked to bring real and positive change to state government. We look forward to working closely with Rob in his new job at MTC.”
Monsees said he looked forward to continuing his work in helping Missouri’s higher education institutions and employers in his new position.
“I am proud of the accomplishments Gov. Blunt has made to make education Missouri’s number one priority and to help revitalize our state’s economy,” Monsees said. “It was a high personal honor for me to serve as the governor’s Deputy Chief of Staff and to be a part of an administration dedicated to moving Missouri forward.”
