Blunt Announces Washington University Professor Receives $41,000 from NASA

JEFFERSON CITY - Gov. Matt Blunt today announced that Henric Krawczynski of Washington University Department of Physics received $41,000 in grants from NASA.

Krawczynski received $25,000 for Intensive ToO Mulitwavelength Observations of the Strong TeV Blazars Mrk 501 and 1Es 1959+650. He was also the recipient of $16,000 for Multiwavelength Observations of New TeV Blazars.

NASA’s primary goal with the grants is to investigate the nature and physics of compact astrophysical objects as revealed through temporal variations in their high energy emission on time scales from microseconds to years. NASA reviewed 150 grant proposals and awarded 103 one-year grants.
