Blunt Appoints Noble to Arts Council

JEFFERSON CITY—Gov. Matt Blunt has appointed Robert (Bob) B. Noble to the Missouri State Council on the Arts.

Noble, 59 of Springfield, is chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Noble World Communications. Noble also created The Food Channel, a nationally acclaimed food trend magazine. Noble majored in fine arts at Southwest Missouri State University. Noble received the Entrepreneur of the Year Award for the Kansas/Western Missouri region in 2001.

Noble’s appointment is for a term ending on Oct. 13, 2009.

The Missouri State Council on the Arts consists of fifteen members representative of all fields of the performing and fine arts, consisting of Missourians who are widely known for their professional competence and experience in connection with the performing and fine arts. The council provides grants to nonprofit organizations in order to encourage and stimulate the growth, development and appreciation of the arts throughout the state.
