Blunt Appoints Owens as Iron County Clerk
IRONTON – Gov. Matt Blunt appointed Norma Owens to serve as Iron County Clerk.
Owens, 52 of Arcadia, is a department manager for Arcadia Sporting Goods. Owens’s family has lived in Iron County for three generations. She is active in her community, where she has worked with the chamber of commerce on events including the Battle of Pilot Knob Reenactment and 4th of July celebration. She has also served as an Iron County election judge.
"Norma’s dedication to the people of Iron County and experience in a customer-focused business will serve her well as the county’s chief elections official," Blunt said. "As the former Secretary of State, I am pleased to have led the effort in enacting meaningful election reforms that have made the ballot more accessible than it has ever been in our state’s history. I know Norma is up to the task of giving the people of Iron County an elections process that will make them proud."
Owens replaces Rodney E. Lashley, who resigned.
