Blunt Names Seibert Chairman of Probation and Parole Board

JEFFERSON CITY–Gov. Matt Blunt has named William K. Seibert, Jr. as chairman of the Board of Probation and Parole.

“William Seibert has demonstrated a sincere commitment to the rule of law and the protection of Missourians throughout his career,” Blunt said. “I am pleased he has agreed to lead this very important board.”

Mr. Seibert, 52 of Jefferson City, was appointed as a member of the board last year. Mr. Seibert previously served as a lieutenant colonel at the Missouri State Highway Patrol and served as the assistant superintendent where he was responsible for the daily operation of the agency.

The Board of Probation and Parole is responsible for determining if an inmate in the Department of Corrections is eligible for parole or conditional release. The board is also responsible for supervising all individuals on probation and parole.
