Blunt Announces Small Business Assistance for Counties Impacted by Spring Freeze

JEFFERSON CITY–Gov. Matt Blunt announced the Small Business Administration (SBA) has made low-interest loans available to Missouri counties as a result of freezing temperatures from March 30 through April 21, 2007.

"For many Missourians this year's spring freeze continues to impact their livelihoods," Blunt said. "I am pleased the Small Business Administration will offer assistance to our businesses as they continue to address the after effects of the crippling spring freeze."

Businesses will be eligible to apply for low-interest disaster loans from the SBA. The sixty-three primary Missouri counties are: Adair, Andrew, Atchison, Barry, Barton, Bates, Benton, Bollinger, Boone, Buchanan, Butler, Caldwell, Callaway, Camden, Cape Girardeau, Carroll, Dade, Dallas, Daviess, DeKalb, Dent, Douglas, Dunklin, Franklin, Gasconade, Gentry, Harrison, Henry, Hickory, Holt, Howard, Howell, Lincoln, Macon, Maries, Marion, McDonald, Mercer, Miller, Mississippi, Moniteau, Monroe, Montgomery, Morgan, New Madrid, Newton, Nodaway, Oregon, Putnam, Ralls, Randolph, Ray, Reynolds, Ripley, Saint Clair, Saline, Schuyler, Scott, Shannon, Shelby, St. Francois, St. Louis City, Ste. Genevieve and Stoddard.

The neighboring Missouri counties are: Audrain, Carter, Cass, Cedar, Chariton, Christian, Clay, Clinton, Cole, Cooper, Crawford, Greene, Grundy, Iron, Jackson, Jasper, Jefferson, Johnson, Knox, Laclede, Lafayette, Lawrence, Lewis, Linn, Livingston, Madison, Osage, Ozark, Pemiscot, Perry, Pettis, Phelps, Pike, Platte, Polk, Pulaski, Scotland, St. Charles, St. Louis, Stone, Sullivan, Taney, Texas, Vernon, Warren, Washington, Wayne, Webster, Worth and Wright.
