Blunt Statement on Missourians’ Right to Bear Arms
JEFFERSON CITY–Gov. Matt Blunt today issued the following statement on Senate Bill 257. The bill protects Missourians' right to bear arms during an emergency and was passed in the Senate today.
"The Second Amendment protects an important freedom that should not be interrupted by emergencies," Blunt said. "I applaud the Senate for answering my call to support legislation that guarantees Missourians will retain their Second Amendment rights, especially in times of emergency."
The governor called for the protection during his State of the State address.
